Who we are

ThrottleHUB is a powersports business directory for Ontario, operated by Redding Designs Inc. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to align with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

We collect only what the service needs to function:

  • Account details you provide when registering: your name, email address, business name, phone number, and a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see or store it in readable form).
  • Rider profile details you choose to provide: display name, handle, avatar, home region, optional city, riding interests, bio, privacy choices, and notification preferences.
  • Listing content you publish: business name, address, phone, description, website, logo, photographs, video links, social profile links, and events.
  • Enquiries submitted through a merchant’s lead form: the name, email, phone, and message provided by the person making the enquiry.
  • Billing information for paid plans. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and never reach our servers — we retain only a card brand, last four digits, and subscription status.
  • Basic technical and usage records, including listing view events and an internal activity log of administrative actions, used for security, troubleshooting, and merchant analytics.

How we use it

  • To publish and operate your directory listing.
  • To authenticate you, verify your email address, and secure your account.
  • To process subscription payments and send billing notices.
  • To send service messages such as listing approval decisions, payment failures, and enquiry notifications.
  • To moderate content and prevent abuse of the platform.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising unrelated to the ThrottleHUB directory.

What is public

Listing content is intended to be public. Anything you publish — business name, address, contact details, description, images, social links, and events — is visible to anyone browsing the directory and may be indexed by search engines. Your account email and password are never published.

Rider profiles are private by default. A published profile shows only the rider's display name, handle, avatar, and home region by default. City, riding interests, and bio appear only when the rider separately enables each field in profile settings.

Service providers

We share information with a small number of processors, only to the extent needed to deliver the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Postmark — transactional email delivery.
  • DigitalOcean — application hosting and image storage.

These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

Retention

We keep account and listing information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we remove or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required to retain records — for example billing records kept for tax purposes.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Merchants can edit or remove most listing information directly from the merchant dashboard at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to production systems is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
